The Women's Center's interns are a diverse group of students who play an important and integral role in the Center's events and programs.
Interning at the U.Va. Women's Center gives students hands-on experience developing skills that will be useful to them in the wide variety of fields they pursue after graduation. The professional quality of their work greatly enriches the Center’s operations and programs. In addition to fulfilling a year-long internship with a Women's Center program, Women's Center interns are expected to take the 3-hour fall semester course "Women, Peace and Justice" (EDLF 5500), taught by Women's Center faculty member Jen Merritt, as part of their Women's Center experience.

The Women's Center at the University of Virginia is unique in its dual role as a service provider and a teaching institution. Student interns make up nearly half of our staff. Former interns Jackie Dolan (left) and Dawn Culpepper present their year-end intern projects.
