Sexual Assault Leadership Council

The Sexual Assault Leadership Council is the umbrella organization of sexual assault-related student groups at UVa. SALC consists of the three student peer education groups (SAFE, SAPA, and 1 in 4) and a feminist groups (FIFE). SALC coordinates the efforts of these groups, helps organize Take Back the Night in the spring and Domestic Violence Awareness Week in the fall, and works to develop and refine the presentations of each of the peer education groups.

Peer Education Groups

Sexual Assault Facts and Education (SAFE) is an organization of students trained to advocate for survivors who provide informational presentations to student groups on a range of topics relating to sexual violence.

Sexual Assault Peer Advocates (SAPA) seeks to promote a culture of support for sexual assault survivors at UVA through presentations to groups and advocacy on behalf of survivors in the community. To find out more about SAPA, click here.

One in Four is an all-male peer education group that educates men on how to help survivors of sexual assault and works to help end violence against women. Click here for more information.
